Did you take the time to help?

I get e-mails/DMs/Tweets all the time like the one below but this one made me stop and think about my own actions and what I am teaching my children.

This man took the time to show appreciation for what I was doing, ask to connect, as well as to share referrals for the book I am writing.

“Hi Sarah

I passed on your query to several young entrepreneurs and I’d sure like to get connected with your blog and to get info about your book when it comes out. I teach entrepreneurship at a small, rural community college in Northwestern North Dakota, but I work with teens in our farming communities to help them understand that e-ship is a viable career option for them. I think your resources would be very helpful both near- and long-term, so if you wouldn’t mind sending me some info, I’d sure appreciate it! Right now I’m working with three at-risk high school classes, so if you have any immediate info – link to your blog, etc. – I think it could be quite helpful and inspirational to them.

This is my personal email account, but if you’d prefer to communicate via my college account.

Thanks very much and all the best with your book and project – sounds fab!”

It made me stop and think …

Who was the last person I got in touch with to say – you are doing great, you are making a difference, keep it up, etc.?

Who was the last person that I gave a referral to?

Am I teaching the GO GIVE principles to my children?

I know I can do a little better at taking just a few seconds or even minutes to GO GIVE and when I do – my children who are ALWAYS WATCHING will see what I do and will likely do the same!

How about you?  Can you do a little better?

Bit by bit – we can all make a difference in Raising CEO Kids!

  1. Hi Sarah,

I listened to you on the Homeschool Biz Expo and I wanted to thank you. You have inspired the children and I to tackle an adventure – one that I am not all that comfortable with, but they are eager to go. You see, they are ceo kids at heart. They are always coming up with ways to earn a little money – babysitting, lemonaid stands, and even setting up at conventions with their dad and drawing pictures for money. Now, they want to earn money on-line and you helped to inspire that (they listened with me). We are looking forward to your Blogging 101 course. I am especially, since I really don’t know how to guide them to start.

Thanks for all you are doing,

    Melissa
